Ann Veronica Janssens tilts the austere, utilitarian, blind object into the light, creating an effect of liquefaction and shimmering metal. As the mirrored surface reflects its surroundings, the work gains an additional, spatial dimension, a form of depth.
The work belongs to a series begun in 2009 that comprises eight IPE beams of various sizes.
