Galerie Thomas Schulte Potsdamer Strasse

Second Exhibition Venue
Galerie Thomas Schulte is pleased to announce it is expanding its program with the opening of a second exhibition venue in the Mercator-Höfe on Potsdamer Strasse parallel to its previous address in Charlottenstrasse. After more than 30 years in Berlin, the gallery is thus strengthening its commitment to dialog and discourse in contemporary art.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Located in the immediate vicinity of numerous other galleries, the new gallery space in a former apartment in an old building with historical details offers not only an increase in exhibition space, but also the opportunity to provide additional impetus and opportunities for artistic discourse within the framework of the gallery program.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
A significantly different spatial situation than in the main gallery in Charlottenstrasse places the works of the gallery artists in a different, more private context and is intended to stimulate the exchange between artists, critics and the art-interested public as well as the art-historical and art-theoretical dialogue between the layers of the program.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
The opening will be significantly shaped by the exhibition of the German-Chilean painter Cosima zu Knyphausen (1988), whose works will be presented to a broad public in Berlin for the first time. In addition, a neon work by Alfredo Jaar (1956) will be presented on the façade of the building.⁣⁣⁣
