At the center of Maria Loboda's installation is her film "The Machine" - it is the artist's first film. The main role is played by an artesian well that gushes without technical assistance. In the machine age, these wells receive special attention. They naturally create a "water theater" that otherwise could only be produced with great mechanical effort. Curiously, such a fountain also stands in the industrially reshaped landscape of the Messel Pit. Loboda's film describes a fantastic journey from Messel and the age of the Eocene, the "dawn", 50 million years ago, through 18th and 19th century machines to research laboratories.
