莱娜·亨克通过技术创新性的生产方式探索雕塑的可能性，通过直面女性气质主题以及城市空间中权力关系的产生，拓展了雕塑的传统意义。雕塑的表现力是亨克理解身体塑形（和铸形）作为一种可变设计过程的基础。在《蹄子》、《胸部》和《沙体》等系列中，亨克将模仿形式与超现实主义意象相融合，在历史传统中进行创作的同时，介入关于男性气质的迷思，以质疑雕塑再现与可再现性的逻辑。她对现有城市结构的心理层面进行干预——例如重新安置展览入口或更改街道标识——使她能够将城市性理解为一种历史演变的雕塑。通过将女性主义和自传的线索编织进她的作品，亨克开辟了一个引人入胜的空间，在那里雕塑与社会批判相遇，重塑了形式与环境。
